Creepypastas are horror-related legends or images that have been copied and pasted around the Internet. These Internet entries are often brief, user-generated, paranormal stories intended to scare readers.

Creepypasta stories were named after the term Copypasta (Copy/Paste) – short written works meant to be posted across the internet. “Classic” Creepypasta icon characters include Slenderman and Jeff the Killer, though both actually started as image memes! Creepypasta saw a rapid rise to popularity, with YouTube personalities such as MrCreepypasta and CreepsMcPasta reading stories aloud. Creepypasta has even reached mainstream entertainment, such as the TV series Channel Zero.

Now, perhaps, it’s time for Creepypasta’s next golden age?
