While Gigi is serving coffee to her coworkers, she notices that Brett is holding a movie poster for a film called Shazaam. Brett describes it as a family-friendly action-adventure movie, and the group begins discussing it normally.
J.R., the former head of Cognito Inc., sees the poster and immediately panics. He insists that no movie called Shazaam has ever existed. According to his memory, the film was called Kazaam and starred basketball player Shaquille O’Neal.
Brett and the others clearly remember Shazaam and are convinced that they have watched it before. Their shared memory leads J.R. to conclude that reality has been altered. He explains that someone has changed the structure of space and time, moving them into a different parallel timeline.
The others initially assume that J.R. is simply remembering the movie incorrectly. J.R. remains certain because he still remembers the original timeline, while everyone else appears to have accepted the rewritten version of reality.

J.R. then presents evidence connected to events that existed in the original timeline. After examining the information, he determines that the reality shift is connected to Reagan’s father, Rand Ridley.
J.R. concludes that Rand has discovered Project Reboot, a secret program that had previously been buried and hidden. The project gives Rand the ability to modify reality, creating new timelines in which people remember different versions of history.
